Kids Who Had Their Childhood Behind The Bars
When we remember our childhood, we recall all our best memories with parents, with friends, in school, in gardens and so on. But, there exist some kids who have spent most of their years behind the bars. They committed some mistakes which then led them to prison. They have left with nothing to remember much about their childhood.
1. Joe Ligon

He was from Pennsylvania and was only 15 years old, when he committed himself to life behind the bars. A casual night out with friends ended up being spent inside the local police cells. But Joe Ligon, probably didn’t intend on spending rest of his life in prison. He had currently spent more than 60 years behind the four walls of the cell. His main crime which resorted in the life of two men saw him incarcerated for the rest of his life.
2. Kevin Boyd

He accompanied his mother to commit a crime which left them both behind the bars. Kevin was only 16 at that time, and grew up without the worldly experiences, as a result rather than attending school and college, he was confined to the area inside the cubicle cell. Even when he was out, he led a miserable life. He attended at least 10 different school and dropped out at 15. Kevin also did receive psychic help for his various mental problems. He is currently writing his account on his childhood, which he thinks will help him deal with his history.
3. John Pace

John was 14, when on one casual night he went out with friends before wandering home. He admitted that he was illegally drinking, and that alcohol clouded his judgement. As walking back he noticed a guy walking towards him. He didn’t think much and soon he approached the man and tried to sabotage him. The man didn’t had much money, this further angered John and he punched the man. Soon the police turned up and John was thrown in prison. The guy that John punched passed away that night, as a result of falling badly. John pleaded badly, knowing that he would get a punishment but didn’t anticipated being heavy. He then spent most of his life time in jail.
4. Barney Lee

He always had a great inclinations towards plane. Barney used to spent time in reading, playing with his model ship or hanging out with friends. Few months earlier than the crime, he had been staying with his uncle on his farm. Instead of doing chores which his uncle requested him to do, Barney ended up playing football outside. When his uncle told him off, he reacted badly, so much so that the police had to get involved. Barney was given a life sentence for that. He is now in San Quentin.
5. Jennifer Pruitt

She belonged to an unstable family, due to this she left her them. She then, started living with a neighbor who felt kick in stealing from others. Later, Jennifer joined in as well. As time passed, when she was 16, the neighbor tried to take things between Jennifer much farther. She reported to the police, but that was not of any help. She killed the man, and she is now in Parole. As she is a girl, and the crime she committed was not entirely her fault she may soon get released.
6. Matthew Bentley

Matthew was only 14 years old, when he started to steal. He loved cars and wanted to have them. He wanted cash too. Matthew entered a house to steal some money and the owner of the house loved guns. Matthew took a gun, and a can of coke. Soon, he was spotted by a woman, without thinking he hesitantly pulled the trigger and left the woman dying. He ended up in jail. He did apologize to the woman and had showed some emotions, but it could not do any good. The woman passed away.
7. Terrance Graham

Terrance was already being watched by the police for other series of crime he had committed. But one fine day, he got caught for committing a serious crime. He was sentenced to death when he was just 14 years old, and public asked relief for him. His punishment got shorter when ruling changed. His sentence was made shorter to 25 years. Terrance will soon be seeing the sun rise again. He will be released in 2029. He will be 42 then.
8. Sara Kruzan

Sara was 11, when she was forced into crime. She was born to a bottom layer family. Instead of living her childhood, she spend her life committing crimes and then in prison. She was incarcerated at the age of 16, when she ended a man’s life. She was sentenced by the law. Later, when lawyers and activists demanded mercy on her case, her punishment was reduced to 25 years and then to 15 years. She was free and chose to live a better life. Although she still remember the bitterness of her childhood, which cannot be changed.
9. Donald Logan

The case of a 16 year old, Donald Logan is a strange one. Nobody knows about it, did he actually commit the crime? Although, it is sure that he was a viewer when the crime happened. He had been tried twice and convicted with life behind bars. Donald was wondering on the streets with few older boys when the incident happened. A few weeks earlier, a guy in Donald’s group had robbed the local paperboy and they wanted to prevent him from giving evidence. Donald pointed the guy out in streets and some of the other boys of group took charge and threatened the paperboy. Everything went wrong and Donald was found guilty for playing a role in ending the paperboy’s life. So, Donald was sent inside the cell and grew up there and spent 37 years.
10. Evan Miller

At only 14 years old, Evan was tried as an adult and given life imprisonment without Parole. It’s not unusual for kids to play with fire, but Evan took it one step farther. He set a house on fire and unfortunately, there was someone inside the house. He was reported dead at the incident. The worst part was Evan knew that someone was inside and still he set the house on fire. He has even not shown any regret for his crime, this made his case even more worst. He was sentenced to spent his life in jail.
